Hi — I’m Markus Kneissl. I am a 43-year-old certified yoga instructor, movement expert, and mobility specialist.
I’ve been a yoga instructor for over 6 years and have been working out for almost 27 years.
I spent the majority of that time only doing weight lifting and cardio, later bodyweight training, with zero emphasis (or understanding) of mobility training, biomechanics, and how the body works.
Early on, I injured my body. I broke my right collar bone as a one-year old. Sprained both ankles multiple times, injured my lower back at age 16, and strained my left hip flexors, adductors, and hamstrings in my mid-30s.
Over the years, my body became stiff, I felt like my grandpa at 87, and I struggled with chronic pain and reoccurring injuries.
These limitations and restrictions left me feeling hopeless, and wreaked havoc on my mental health.
At 39 years old, I had officially reached rock bottom — the second time (first time was burnout at 35). I suffered from a frozen shoulder and I was so weak that I couldn’t hold my body over the sink to wash my face in the morning without severe pain.
It was that moment, where everything changed and I promised myself that I would get my health right.
It was a long process of experimenting and trying to find the answers I was desperately seeking.
At age 42, I haven’t learned only yoga, calisthenics, physical rehab, deep tissue work, fascia release techniques, breathwork, and mindfulness. Rather I had pieced together all the various tools, techniques, and methods to a system I call “Beyond Movement”.
Through “Beyond Movement” training I’ve been able to completely revamp my health and change the trajectory of my life.
This online program is the outcome of years of trial and error, with the goal being to help others make similar transformations in their health and quality of life.
