Everyone Knows What to Do. So Why Aren’t They Doing It?

“I don’t know if what I eat here is healthy or not. I go to the gym 5x per week, but no idea if what I do there is effective.”

That’s what Nir told me last week. Entrepreneur. Writer. Storyteller. A smart, disciplined guy. But like so many high performers, he was stuck in the gap between knowledge and execution.

Everybody knows what to do to stay healthy:

  • Eat whole foods.
  • Train your body at least 3x per week.
  • Sleep 7–9 hours.
  • Meditate.
  • Stay consistent.

And yet, 99% of people don’t do it.

Why? Not because they don’t care. Not because they’re lazy.

It’s because knowing isn’t the problem. The problem is friction. Overwhelm. The weight of a thousand micro-decisions every single day.

The human brain defaults to ease. It wants shortcuts, habits, automation. If you don’t set up an environment where the right choice is also the easy choice, you will always fall back into what’s convenient.

That’s the difference between knowing and becoming.

So the question isn’t “What should I do?”
The question is: “How do I make it effortless?”

The first step is to want change. The next step is to start doing. Something. Anything.

Improving is all about consistency. And Nir got to a point where he was doing but wanted to do it right.

Do less, but do. Do it right, but do it over a long period, change will happen, a habit will form.
