Today at a Glance

The way you start the day sets the tone for the rest of it. Let’s make sure you start your day off on the right foot.

In today’s newsletter, we will be discussing the morning routines of successful entrepreneurs and how you can implement their habits into your own life.

By following these tips, you can increase productivity, reduce stress, and set yourself up for success.

Let’s dive in!

Research has shown that starting your day with mindfulness, gratitude, and self-reflection can have a significant impact on your productivity and overall well-being.

Taking a few moments in the morning to

  • focus on your breath,
  • identify things you’re grateful for, and
  • set intentions for the day ahead

can help you cultivate a positive mindset and train your resilience to stress.

Additional studies have found that people who regularly practice mindfulness have

  • improved cognitive function,
  • better emotional regulation, and
  • reduced symptoms of anxiety and depression.

So, why not give it a try?

Incorporating these simple practices into your morning routine could be the key to unlocking your full potential and living a more fulfilling life.

It’s like fully charging yourself for a productive and fulfilling day ahead. You want to show up as your best self for your clients, employees, colleagues, family, and friends, right?
And you can’t give what you don’t have.

So, let’s make sure you show up as your best self—every day.

Here are 5 simple morning habits to start off right:

1. Practice gratitude (like Sheryl Sandberg):

Starting your day with gratitude can boost your overall well-being.

Reflect on at least three things you’re thankful for. Even small ones like a good cup of coffee or a supportive family, and write them down.

This simple act sets a positive tone for your day and helps you focus on the good things in life, even in tough times.

Give it a try and start your day on the right foot!

2. Exercise (like Tim Cook):

Starting your day with physical activity can do wonders for your health and well-being.

Regular exercise has been shown to improve cardiovascular health, strengthen muscles and bones, and even boost cognitive function. Plus, it’s free medication to help reduce stress and anxiety, improve sleep quality, and lead to an overall better quality of life.

Even a small amount of exercise each day can make a big difference in the long run.

We merge exercise with a mindful movement practice—starting our day with 30-60 min. Every day.

3. Meditate (like Arianna Huffington):

Mindfulness meditation is an effective way to achieve mental clarity and focus.

Take a few minutes each day to sit quietly and breathe deeply.

You can reduce stress and anxiety, while also increasing your overall sense of well-being.

Practicing mindfulness has helped us cultivate a greater awareness of our thoughts and emotions. It allowed us to better understand how they impact our daily life.

Big win in the long run.

4. Journal (like Tim Ferris):

Taking the time to jot down your thoughts, goals, or experiences from the previous day can be an excellent way to reflect on your actions and learn from them.

This simple habit helps identify patterns in your behavior and thought processes.

With more clarity, you can easily make positive changes in your life.

Reviewing our notes from past months or years has helped us to see our progress and growth. It makes it easier to stay motivated and focused on our goals.

5. Learn something new (like Mark Cuban):

Expand your knowledge and skills. Become a life-long learner. Dedicate some time each morning to learning something new.

This could involve reading an article, blog post, or book that relates to your interests or goals. Even a paragraph or two is great to carve in the habit.

Childlike curiosity is a superpower and you gain deeper insights and perspectives, develop new ideas, and improve your ability to communicate your thoughts and opinions with others.

We don’t say you need to do them all.

We experimented a lot with a variety of practices and habits. That’s why we recommend picking one and experimenting with it for a few weeks. See how it goes.

A good orientation is what you want to learn, achieve, or get better at.

And soon you’ll be setting yourself up for success in both business and personal aspects of life.

The best part—all of the above promote mental health and wellness too!

That’s it for today. See you next week.

What’s going on in our world

We’re enjoying the last few days here in San Cristobal de las Casas. On Sunday we’ll take the overnight bus to Oaxaca. Not the best option for our sacred sleep. Unfortunately, there is no other.

We reconnected with our friend Aya —an awesome healthy productivity expert— a couple of weeks ago and shared our entrepreneurial journeys. We realized the immense power of merging time and energy in our entrepreneurial journey, and how greatly focus impacts our success.

An idea arose.

In the video below we share powerful strategies and tips to improve focus by managing both time and energy effectively.

What came out of our conversation is a vivid mix of practical time management, nutrition, and movement tips you can apply to enhance your focus (and healthy productivity).

We also came up with a collab project we’re creating for you right now. Watch the video until the end to learn what’s cooking in our pot.

As always, stay fit, stay active, and enjoy your life.
